CALAMVALE DISTRICT PARK

Local Parks

Located at Formby St Calamvale, this Shangri-La (not really) caters for the young and young at heart. The adventure playground is built for extreme fun high in the sky, with futuristic-looking towers, long slides, flying foxes, avant-garde web-nest swings, rock climbing apparatus, a dog off-leash area, rope bridges, and a shaded barbecue grassy area.

SVOBODA PARK

Located at 1490 Beenleigh Road, this community hub is also accessable from Stiller Drive Kuraby. Named after the Ukrainian and Russian word for 'freedom', this is truly a park of freedom: of entrance, for toddlers to play in their own area, and of fun. Onsite facilities rival that of Black Sea resorts, with a flying fox, music area, slides, swings, alphabet spinner and water pump play area. In addition, it is wheelchair accessible, with a barbecue area, undercover picnic tables (sunsafe), toilets, a fitness area and two basketball courts.

WALLY TATE PARK

Home to the Kuraby Cricket Club, Kuraby Community Hall, Runcorn Horse and Pony Club, Kuraby Scouts, with access and car parking (Warrigal Road, Beenleigh Road), barbecue, dog off leash area, half court, lure coursing facility, northern track network, picnic area, playground (Besline Street), public toilet (Beenleigh Road, dog off leash area), shared pathway and path network (Besline Street) plus a skate facility. Instead of wondering what is in this park, one should consider wondering instead, what isn't in this park.

Located in the quiet suburban area of Stretton, this park is ideal for a quiet, shady and snazzy picnic or recreational time with the family. There is also decent lawn space for a quick, small game of football but be careful not to kick the ball into neighbouring houses or onto the road!
