
About Freya
Freya Ostapovitch was the Member for Stretton from 24th March 2012 to January 31 2015 and during that time served as a member of the Administration and Finance Committee as well as the Chairman of the Chinese Parliamentary Liaison.
Born in the Netherlands, Freya had been a psychiatric nurse, real estate agent, corporate sales executive, school and sport photographer, SME consultant and mentor, and most recently, community volunteer, before election to Parliament. Married with two grown sons, she thoroughly enjoys travelling, meeting people, horse riding, snorkelling and volcano climbing.
For many years, Freya has been active in both the local and wider community, serving as member of the Lions Club International, Ethnic Communities Council Queensland, National Council of Women Queensland, Sunnybank RSL, Neighbourhood Watch and the PCYC. Additionally, she was Vice President of the Logan Chamber of Commerce, President of the Loganlea Community Centre, a wildlife rescuer and carer, and a Universal Peace Ambassador.
